How To Replace The Single Post Template

Overview This guide walks you through replacing the default single post template in Kadence with a custom design using the WordPress block editor.

Before You Start

  • Ensure you have the Kadence theme installed and active.
  • Create a backup of your site if you’re modifying an existing template.

Steps

1. Access the WordPress Editor
Go to Appearance > Editor (formerly Customizer) and navigate to Templates.

2. Select or Add a New Template

  • If modifying an existing template, choose Single Post from the list.
  • If creating a new one, click Add New and select Single Post.

3. Customize the Template

  • Use Kadence Blocks or the default WordPress block editor to structure your post layout.
  • Add elements like Featured Image, Post Title, Post Content, and Author Box as needed.
  • Use the Query Loop Block for dynamic content if desired.

4. Save and Assign

  • Click Publish to save your changes.
  • If using multiple templates, go to Display Conditions and assign the template to All Single Posts or specific categories.

5. Verify the Changes
⚠️ Check a few blog posts to ensure the new template displays correctly across different posts. Adjust spacing and styling as needed.
