How To Replace The Single Post Template
Overview This guide walks you through replacing the default single post template in Kadence with a custom design using the WordPress block editor.
Before You Start
- Ensure you have the Kadence theme installed and active.
- Create a backup of your site if you’re modifying an existing template.
Steps
1. Access the WordPress Editor
Go to Appearance > Editor (formerly Customizer) and navigate to Templates.
2. Select or Add a New Template
- If modifying an existing template, choose Single Post from the list.
- If creating a new one, click Add New and select Single Post.
3. Customize the Template
- Use Kadence Blocks or the default WordPress block editor to structure your post layout.
- Add elements like Featured Image, Post Title, Post Content, and Author Box as needed.
- Use the Query Loop Block for dynamic content if desired.
4. Save and Assign
- Click Publish to save your changes.
- If using multiple templates, go to Display Conditions and assign the template to All Single Posts or specific categories.
5. Verify the Changes
